With no Symphonic Rock concert planned for 2017, Anoka High School’s Business Professionals of America chapter decided to host a fundraiser of its own to benefit the Anoka Caring and Sharing Fund, which assists Anoka High School families in need.
Tickets go on sale April 11 for a June 3 Letters From Home performance.
Letters From Home shows promise to entertain audiences with song and dance, but have a broader mission: to revive patriotism and honor military servicepeople and their families.
“Without those people, we wouldn’t have the freedoms that we do,” said Courtney Groves, a Coon Rapids High School alumnus who performs in America’s Bombshell Duo alongside Letters From Home director Erinn Diaz.
“We always have a lot of fun,” Groves said. “We’re very interactive.”
Audiences will be transported to the 1940s and should expect swelling harmonies and swell tap dancing.
The Anoka show will be the company’s first production in Minnesota, so Groves is excited for family and friends to be able to catch her in action.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Anoka Box Office at Anoka High School, 3939 N. Seventh Ave., Anoka, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Tickets can also be secured by emailing [email protected] or by visiting www.ahslettersfromhome.brownpapertickets.com.
The show starts at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium Saturday, June 3.
