New hires, promotions at Sheriff’s Office

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office promoted two staff members while swearing in two more on April 3.

Deputies Matthew Madson and Ehren Lentsch were promoted to licensed deputy in the patrol division. They had been detention deputies since Nov. 17, 2014, and Dec. 7, 2015, respectively.

Brenda Hummel was hired as a forensic scientist II for the Tri-County Regional Forensics Lab’s DNA section. She has a biology degree and a Science of Education license from the University of Minnesota and a Forensic Science Certificate from Hamline University. She previously worked as a forensic scientist in Minneapolis.

Another new hire is Detention Deputy Peter Minwegen. He has an Associate of Arts degree from Anoka-Ramsey Community College and has previous experience as a reserve police officer for the State Fair Police Department and security guard at the Mall of America.
