Reduced garbage, sewer rates for seniors

Senior citizens, who qualify and are residents of Blaine, will be entitled to a reduced rate in sewer and garbage rates following action by the Blaine City Council Thursday.

Bids approved for Bunker Beach wave pool

For years there has been a lot of excitement in Anoka County about getting a wave pool but the prohibitive costs of constructing this recreational jewel have delayed the project up until now. Now, Anoka County has $1,080,000 sitting in the bank, dollars from the Metropolitan Regional Parks and Open Spaces, to construct the well, the wave pool and all the elements that go with the project.

Scout Expo at Northtown Mall

Boy Scouts from throughout Anoka County converged on Northtown Mall April 5 for the annual exposition. Scout troops showed off their skills in a variety of ways, from presenting information on snowmobile safety and first aid, to showing off their racers in the Pinewood Derby.
