The National Sports Center is inviting the public to attend a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. May 2 to discuss the long-range vision for the 600-acre campus.
The meeting will take place in the Grand Hall inside the Welcome Center on the NSC campus, 1750 105th Ave. NE, Blaine.
Some of the issues that the planning firm of LHB, Inc. will address include land use issues, potential future expansion, improvement of already built areas, connecting campus units, meeting community needs, and improving signage, pedestrian safety, and vehicle and access flow.
Also on the agenda is the larger topic of preparing the NSC’s facilities and programs to effectively meet the changing demographic needs of future population and sports consumers.
At the town hall meeting, participants will work in small groups following an orientation presentation and wrap up with a discussion of next steps.
“This town hall is an ideal opportunity for community members and NSC customers to contribute their ideas and suggestions,” said Scott Roth, the Sports Center’s director of golf.
Roth is serving as the interface between the NSC staff and LHB, Inc. “We’re encouraging local neighbors, businesses, political leaders, our existing sports consumers, partners and anyone interested in the future of the NSC to come and contribute,” Roth said.
The NSC has established a master planning website to keep the public informed on the process. Members of the public are invited to log onto the website to fill out a survey and sign up to receive newsletters.
