A patriotic rally

A volunteer committee is busily engaged arranging for a patriotic rally to be held in Anoka Friday evening, April 27, at 7 p.m. at the Green Theater. Hon. Frank M. Nye, Director A.D. Wilson, chairman of the State Food Committee, and several local citizens will give patriotic addresses. The University Band, one hundred strong, will be present, and the Anoka High School will render some patriotic songs.

Rain washes out bridge approach

A heavy rain and thunder and lightning storm Monday morning washed out the approach at the west end of the bridge, directly in front of Wilburg’s place. The hole was large enough to put a good size house in.

Stanley K. Ryhn, a veteran Jaycee officer, was elected the ninth president of the Coon Rapids Jaycees at their annual meeting held last Monday evening, April 24 at the Coon Rapids American Legion club.
