Coon Rapids baseball defeats SLP to stay alive in 5AAAA tournament

In a loser-out game Monday, the Coon Rapids baseball team defeated Spring Lake Park 12-2 in five innings to stay alive in the Section 5AAAA tournament.

The fourth-seeded Cardinals advance and played Mounds View, the No. 2 seed, on Wednesday.

In Monday’s game, Jon Olson led the Cardinals with four hits and four RBI. Robert Morrissette and Avery Lehman both added two hits. Bryce Peterson earned the win on the mound in four innings pitched, striking out four batters and allowing three hits.

SLP ends its season with a 4-17 record.
