Jory Walter Rasmussen was called home to our Lord on Monday, June 5th, 2017, after a short illness.
Born January 15, 1947, to Walter and Ethel (Christensen) Rasmussen of Lakefield, MN. Jory was a rambunctious multisport athlete and class president of the Lakefield HS class of 1965. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Alice (Sydness) Rasmussen and had five boys. Jory graduated with a MA degree in Social Work from Florida State University and had a long career in the social services field, before starting a limousines/transportation company. One of his favorite rides was having the Righteous Brothers warming up on the way to a show and giving him a private concert.
Jory is survived by his wife, Alice Rasmussen; five sons, Jeffrey (Michael AnnMarie), James (Heather), Jeremy (Ellee), Jonathan and Jared; and seven grandchildren, Derek, Kristi, Kaitlyn, Corinne, Gretchen, Anna and Jacob.
We will miss his smile, his compassion, his pinochle ability and always reinforcing the question of “Why are you so good looking??” with a grin and a hearty “Because you’re related to me!” He will be missed.
A Celebration of Jory’s Life will be held at a later date.
