North Dakota State announced last month that its track and field team signed Blaine High School high jumper Kyle Hockert to a National Letter of Intent.

Hockert owns the Blaine high jump record, clearing 6-foot-10. He won the Northwest Suburban Conference and the Section 5AA titles in the event and went on to finish fourth at the state meet.

He also placed fourth in the high jump last season as a junior and seventh as a sophomore.

The Bison have won a combined 15 indoor and outdoor Summit League titles since 2008, including eight straight outdoor championships.
