3M Championship’s 25th anniversary to be held at TPC Twin Cities

2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the 3M Championship at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine. The 3M Championship features PGA TOUR Champions biggest names in a three-day tournament from Aug. 4-6. The tournament week begins July 31 with pro-ams and practice rounds Monday through Thursday.

Joe Durant returns to defend his title. He’ll face a competitive field, which includes two-time champion Bernhard Langer, Steve Stricker, Tom Lehman and PGA TOUR Champions rookies David Toms and Steve Flesch.

The Post-It Products Greats of Golf Challenge, which is a tournament within the tournament, returns for its 14th year. It features professional golf’s legends, including Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Lee Trevino, in a team competition following play Aug. 5.

Autograph sessions are planned for the morning before play.

July 31

1 p.m. – PiperJaffray Pro-Am. Teams of amateurs and pros compete for top honors.

Aug. 1

9 a.m. – Practice Rounds.

12 p.m. – Accenture Executive Women’s Pro-Am.

6:30 p.m. – EMC Draw Party Presented by Treasure Island Resort & Casino at the KQRS Tent at the TPC Twin Cities. (Invitation only)

Aug. 2

7 a.m. – EMC Pro-Am Presented by Century Link. Teams of amateurs and pros compete for top honors.  

Aug. 3

7 a.m. – EMC Pro-Am Presented by Century Link. Teams of amateurs and pros compete for top honors.

Aug. 4

10:30 a.m. – First Round of Championship Play. (time is approximate).

Aug. 5

7:30 a.m. – Second Round of Championship Play. (time is approximate)

The Greats of Golf Challenge. Presented by Post-It Brand Products will be the last four groups of the day.

5 p.m. – Volunteer Party (following play)

Aug. 6

7:30 a.m. – Final Round of Championship Play. (time is approximate)

Friday–Sunday – Stryker Expo Tent. Open to everyone.

Friday–Sunday – Wendy’s Family Fun Zone Presented by Anoka County. Open to everyone.

Saturday – Greats of Golf Autograph Sessions located in the Expo Tent. Open to all spectators.
