Night to Unite a success

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the city of Coon Rapids for another successful Night to Unite on Aug. 1. The residents from my block met at Moor Park. We has sloppy joes and the 20-plus neighbors that showed up brought a dish to share. There were several businesses from which my neighborhood resides that donated gift cards to be used for drawings. These businesses have been hit hard financially due to all of the construction in the Foley Boulevard and Northdale Boulevard area, but they stepped up and contributed.

I would like to thank the following: Continental Cafe, Bromley Printing, Dunn Brothers Coffee, Dairy Queen, Rebyl Sports, Summit Dental, Jensen’s, Shortstop, Coon Rapids Liquor and the Muddy Cow. Another “shout out” to our police chief, Brad Wise, and our mayor, Jerry Koch, for stopping by to visit our neighborhood folks and to answer any questions my neighbors had. They were on a tight schedule, so for these two to show up is a feather in their hats for taking the time to “Build Strength Through Unity” in our Coon Rapids community.
