Anoka Hennepin Credit Union is proud to present proceeds from its Spirit Foundation’s “2017 Spirit Walk.”
Blaine High School students and families raised the most funds for their school through the credit union’s foundation fundraising efforts.
“What’s so great about the Spirit Walk is that the kids don’t have to sell anything to raise money for their school clubs. Grandma and Grandpa can just donate directly to Spirit Walk,” said Jeff Claussen, president and CEO of Anoka Hennepin Credit Union. “The credit union, through its foundation, donated an additional $1,000 to the school. Our goal is to raise $25,000 for each high school in our field of membership.”
Thousands more were raised at the Spirit Walk by booster clubs. That money was paid directly to each club. Blaine High School’s cheerleaders and girl’s basketball teams raised almost $5,000 combined for their booster clubs.
A second check was awarded for over $600 to Blaine High School for its participation in the Spirit Card Program. Every time a member uses their Spirit debit card, a percentage is donated to the member’s school of choice.
