Rum River Writers is seeking new members interested in improving their craft through weekly meetings structured around the following:
-Encouraging and supporting one another through the ups and downs of writing.
-Providing honest and constructive feedback (if desired) as writers present their work.
-Sharing information and resources about craft, educational opportunities and publishing.
-Holding one another accountable for continuing to write even when life gets too busy, when it’s summer, and when motivation is lacking.
Rum River Writers is presently a group of four who have been sharing their writing over the past year. Current members write fiction, poetry, non-fiction and memoir.
When the group comes together after the summer break, they hope to double in size. Writers of all genres and skill levels are welcome. The only criteria is a love of writing. If that’s you, join the group at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 at the Anoka County Historical Society, 2135 3rd Ave. N., Anoka.
Two-hour meetings are held Thursdays with the majority of time spent workshopping members’ writing.
