Arabesque School of Dance, a Blaine-based dance studio, is working this week with a group of Houston area volunteers to host a dancewear drive in the wake of Hurricane Harvey- providing materials for dancers impacted by the storm.
Using Facebook as a vehicle, the local Houston dance supporters have connected with studios all over the country to provide these donations. Donations will be mailed to a host dance studio in Houston and distributed to dance studios in need.
Arabesque School of Dance will begin their drive to support the group starting Tuesday, Sept. 5 through Thursday, Sept. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Arabesque studio. Volunteers are invited to assist in sorting and packing donations on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10 to 11:30 am at Arabesque.
New and gently used dancewear such as tights, shoes, leotards, hair ties, bobby pins, pants, leggings, shorts, and tops may be donated. All items should be donated in plastic bags. Monetary donations are welcome to assist with shipping costs.
Arabesque School of Dance is located at 10130 Davenport Street NE #170, Blaine, MN 55449. Contact Shelly Walberg at 763-780-6075 or [email protected] for more information. Visit Facebook.com/ArabesqueDanceBlaine for updates.
