Anoka wasn’t quite a ghost town Oct. 28, but crowds were much thinner than usual for the Grand Day Parade, billed as the largest parade in Minnesota and typically attracting as many as 80,000 to the Halloween Capital of the World.

Liz McFarland, parade chairperson, estimates crowds were about 1/3 of the usual size.
