Thanks to the efforts of a Minneapolis couple and a Northwestern Bell community service team, Blaine will have a 40-foot high Christmas tree delivered to City Hall today. Mr. and Mrs. Gunnar Peterson donated the 40-foot high blue spruce which, until this morning, stood in their front yard in Minneapolis.

Exercises of high order marked the opening held Thursday evening. Speeches, music, dancing, refreshments and a pleasant social time were had. Co. B’s magnificent new home was duly dedicated with an appropriate program. The event was a social event and three hundred or so were present. The new armory is most artistic from an architectural standpoint and stands today the best single company armory in the country, according to reports made at the dedication.

Blaine City Council Nov. 7 took action which hopefully will relieve many Blaine and Ham Lake residents of problems with odor and flies from Blaine Meats, Inc. located along Highway 65 near 129th in Blaine. Bob Hutchinson of the Anoka County Comprehensive Health Department appeared before council to describe the problem.
