An April Fool’s prank was defused but not before a bomb scare caused the principal of Roosevelt junior high to dismiss classes and brought the fire department, police and bomb squad to the scene. The incident occurred April 1 at about 1 p.m. when a student reported finding what appeared to be a ticking bomb in a boy’s restroom at Roosevelt. The “bomb” was later found to be a beer can stuffed with paper, with a wire running from that to a ticking clock. A 14-year old boy admitted to the hoax and he will be referred to juvenile court.
