As summer rolls on and residents are fishing and boating on the lake, phantom aquatic menaces are threatening to damage lakes and streams on a massive scale.
If a gun ordinance proposed at the July 18 meeting of the Blaine City Council is approved, hunting will be banned entirely within the City of Blaine. An ordinance which would allow hunting in some areas of Blaine was introduced but after discussion a new ordinance banning all hunting within the city was asked to be prepared.
On Wednesday, Aug. 6 the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce will host a forum entitled “What’s Coming Down the Road: Transportation and Your Business.”
Basil Hackleman looked up the step ladder into the depths of an old bomber plane similar to one he flew on 11 missions during World War II and recalled how as a 22-year-old man he would jump up and grab the edge of the door to swing himself inside the plane.
