Air traffic control towers at the Anoka County-Blaine Airport and in St. Cloud will not close in June, but remain open at least through September.

Blaine police report for the week of April 26-May 2

On April 27 at 12:53 p.m. in the 8810 block of Davenport Street N.E., it was reported that kids threw something out the window of a silver vehicle that exploded and started grass on fire. The fire department put out the fire. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

Watershed board takes over ditch jurisdiction

The Coon Creek Watershed District now has jurisdiction over a county ditch that covers 4.94 miles and is the principal storm water outlet for some 2,900 acres (5.4 miles) of residential, commercial and industrial land in Blaine, Coon Rapids, Fridley and Spring Lake Park.
