Andover (18-10-3) bounced back from a loss in its first state girls hockey tournament game, a 4-2 loss to No. 3 seed Eden Prairie, with a pair of satisfying wins to lift the Class AA state consolation bracket trophy.

Andover senior Maddie McKeefry moved up 19 places with a stellar classic race to close out her Nordic ski career for the Huskies with a 29th place finish in the state Nordic ski meet at Giant’s Ridge in Biwabik Feb. 13.

While Cambridge-Isanti dominated the Section 7AA gymnastics meet with a 142.900 score, a few area gymnasts qualified for the state meet. Andover junior Sarah Miller earned a place at the state meet in three events: balance beam, vault and floor exercise. Miller won the section title on beam with a score of 9.400, 0.050 ahead of runner-up Hannah Haight of Cambridge
