Faith Lutheran Church will hold its annual dinner show, “Tickets to Broadway,” March 2 and 3. Dinner is 6:30 p.m. March 2, with the show at 7:45 p.m. Dinner is 6 p.m. March 3 with the show at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults for the dinner and show. Zion Lutheran Church serves a Family Table meal the first Saturday of each month from 5 to 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to everyone in the community who is in need of a hot meal and/or friendly conversation.

Events hosted by UMCA
United Methodist Church of Anoka will hold a bake sale/book sale Sunday, March 4.
UMCA youth and their families will take part in World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine the weekend of Feb. 24 and 25. They plan to serve at several local mission projects, including Feed My Starving Children and Simpson Shelter.
UMCA is a host church for Family of Promise of Anoka County.
LIVEDEEP is held Wednesdays. A meal is served at 5:45 p.m. The cost is $3.
Ever Cat Fuels is collecting used cooking oil in a 55 gallon drum in the UMCA parking lot (next to the trash dumpster) to be turned into biodiesel fuel in a revolutionary new conversion process called the Mcgyan process. Oils accepted include cooking oil (vegetable oil), bacon grease or other animal tallow (fat).

A group of knitters and crocheters gather the first Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. to make mittens, hats and scarves for the women and children at Emma Norton Residence and children in the Anoka-Hennepin School District. Yarn donations can be made at the church office.
A drop-off bin for used book donations for resale has been set up to help the Good Samaritan Fund assist those in need.
Non-perishable food items are being collected for the ACBC and CEAP food shelves.
UMCA youth are collecting used cell phones to recycle as a fund-raiser to support their mission trips. Phones can be dropped off Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you enjoy knitting or crocheting, pick up an instruction sheet at the church to make baby hats to send to Sierra Leone, Africa.
Donations of small hotel/motel soap, shampoos and conditioners are being collected for the Salvation Army homeless shelter. There are also receptacles for Campbell’s soup labels, milk caps and General Mills box tops for the Red Bird Mission.

First Congregational United Church of Christ of Anoka’s Sunday School children are encouraged to bring pet food for the ACBC Food Shelf during February. Other nonperishable food and grooming items are always welcome. There is also a place to donate baby items for Bundles of Love, including diapers, wipes, baby soap and lotion, ointment, teething rings, pacifiers, socks and safe toys.
Lenten soup suppers are served Wednesdays through March 28.

Events at Cross of Hope
Cross of Hope Lutheran Church holds Lenten suppers Wednesdays, through March 28 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Youth & Family Ministries, throughout February, is collecting new pajamas to donate to the Pajama Program, which provides support to needy children that are waiting to be adopted. Drop the pajamas off in the Education Hallway.
Quilters will meet Friday, Feb. 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to make quilts for the Alexandra House and other organizations.
On Saturday, Feb. 25 at 5:30 p.m. there will be a “Top Chef Throw-Down” fund-raising dinner featuring church staff and show and entertainment by Tom & Company. The ingredients are chicken Kiev, wild and white rice pilaf, steamed broccoli and mocha truffle dessert. The cost is $20 a person.
There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, March 5 from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The church is collecting used cell phones and used printer ink cartridges to recycle as a fund-raiser to provide scholarships for various youth activities. These items can be dropped off in the church office.

Activities at St. Stephen
St. Stephen Catholic Church will serve fish dinners Fridays, Feb. 24 through March 30, 5:30 to 7 p.m., in the Faith Community Center. The menu includes fried and baked fish, mashed potatoes, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, cole slaw, dinner rolls, apple crisp, coffee, milk and lemonade. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages four to 12 and free for kids under four.
St. Stephen’s Parish Mission is March 12 through 14, 7 to 8:30 p.m. The theme is Freedom for Excellence: The Three Pillars of the Lenten Season.

Catholics in Recovery meets Saturdays at 6:15 p.m. in the Donovan Room. Many of the AA models are used to help participants as they focus on recovery and their Catholic faith. The meeting format includes a scripture reading, a short reflection from the person leading the meeting that evening and a sharing of thoughts afterward.

Northern Light Church hosts grief series
Northern Light Church will host the North Metro Grief Support Coalition’s Growing Through Loss series, a series of sessions providing information and support for individuals experiencing grief and loss issues, Thursdays through March 29. Each session is complete in itself and registration takes place the day of the program.
A Scrafting Fun Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 10 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. There will be scrapbooking, card making and other crafts. No charge, but bring a non-perishable food item for the food shelf. There will be a free-will donation to the food shelf as well. Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church will hold a farewell open house for Rev. Brian and Kim Fragodt Sunday, March 4 from noon to 2 p.m.
“Courageous” will be shown Friday, April 13 at 7 p.m. the main worship space. This event is free of charge and is geared towards mature children and adults. Nursery will be provided for young children for $2 per child.
