Peter Chacos

Funeral service for Peter M. Chacos, 74, Blaine, took place Feb. 2 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Peter Bednarczyk officiated.

Chacos died Jan. 29 at the Anoka Care Center. He was born Oct. 2, 1935 in Minneapolis to Mark and Dorothy (Zouboules) Chacos and was a retired store manager.

He is survived by his son, Terry (Monica); grandchildren, Tony, Matthew, Paul and Sarah; brothers, Mike (Rae) and Jim (Kay); and sisters, Marie (John) Larson, Joan Fahrendorff and Sue Berry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene; infant son, Chris; parents; sisters, Pauline, Doris and Angie; and brother, James.

Pallbearers were Tony and Mike Jr. Chacos, Steven Helseth, Mike VanCamp, Peter Fahrendorff and Jason Berry.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.



Aidan Ebensteiner

Memorial service for Aidan James Ebensteiner, Elk River, will take place tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 6), 2 p.m., at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

He was born and died Jan. 26.

He is survived by his mother, Alyssa Hayes; father, Grant Ebensteiner; and many family and friends.

Interment will be private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.



Shelley Forse

Funeral service for Shelley Rae Forse, 54, Coon Rapids, took place Feb. 1 at First Baptist Church of Anoka. Rev. Charles Phelps officiated.

Forse died Jan . 28 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1956 in Anoka to Clarence Chester and Eileen Estelle (Richards) Forse. She was a former parts runner at Main Motors.

She is survived by her mother, Eileen; sister, Laurel Force; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence; and brother, Terrence.

Pallbearers were Randall Gwin, Ryan and Warren Lamusga, Randal Morstad, Bill Obedoza and Bruce Ostlund.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.



Walter Johnson

Memorial service for Walter Henry Johnson, 24, Anoka, formerly of Ham Lake, took place Jan. 28 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, East Bethel. Rev. Brian Fragot officiated.

Johnson died Jan. 24 in Minneapolis. He was born April 16, 1985 in Fridley to Ricky and Pamela (Anderson) Johnson. He graduated from Blaine High School.

He is survived by his son, Adam; parents, Ricky and Pamela Johnson of Anoka; sisters, Cory Kay (Matti) Penttila and children Hannah and Maddox of Ramsey, Katty May (Kevin) Jacobson and children Kody Lee, Kadence and Keira of Lino Lakes; grandparents, Roger and Delores Anderson of Milltown, Wis., Richard and Donna Johnson of Cushing, Wis.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Urn bearers were Matti Penttila and Kevin Jacobson.

Interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were by Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel.  



Veronica Levine

Funeral service for Veronica Katherine Levine, 90, Rogers, will take place tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 6), 11 a.m., at Bethel Lutheran Church, Superior, Wis. Rev. Gary Garnatz will officiate.

Levine died Jan. 28. She was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Hibbing to daughter of Thomas M. and Ethel J. Basterash.

She is survived by her children, Raymond A. Jr., Gregory T. and Gary S. (Lillian); grandchildren, Chris, Renae, Joy, Matt, Nate, Becca and Scott, and several great grandchildren.

 brothers, Maynard, Vernon and Edmond; sisters, Gloria, Delores and Karen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; mother and father; brothers, Thomas, Armand and Stanley; and sisters; Lorraine, Evelyn and Maye.

Pallbearers will be her seven grandchildren.

Interment will be at Parkview Cemetery, Hawthorne, Wis. Arrangements are by Downs Funeral Home, Superior, Wis.



Darvin Mattila

Memorial service for Darvin G. Mattila, 74, Northeast Minneapolis, took place Jan. 29 at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Debbie (Troy) Hildebrand, Darrin (Tammy) Mattila, Dougy (Keri) Mattila, Donnie (Angie) Mattila, Stacy (Jeff) Hofstede; grandchildren, Nicole, Jessica, Ashley, Robbie, Courtney, Samantha, Lily, Henry, Johnny, Mason and Josh; mother, Lulu Aho; brother, Marvin Mattila; sisters, Phyllis Swensgard, Beverly (Rod) Julkowski, Barbara (Bill) Newcomer; special friends, Marian and Dave; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.



John Paulson

Funeral service for John Leslie Paulson, 65, Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Champlin, took place Feb. 2 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Bennet Tran officiated.

Paulson died Jan. 24 as Desert Springs Hospital, Las Vegas. He was born May 21, 1944 in St. Louis, Mo., to Howard Kenneth and Jewell Evelyn (Hagood) Paulson and was an architect in store design and construction.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons, Michael, Mark (Chris) and Joshua; grandsons, Brandon, Alex and Oliver; mother, Jewell Paulson; sister, Janice Costain; brothers, Ken (Mary), Darryl (Marilyn), Duane (Julie); nieces and nephews; and cousin, Bruce (Shirley) Weis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard; and grandson, Jack.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.



Carol Spilde

Funeral service for Carol L. Spilde, 80, Coon Rapids, formerly of Eau Claire, Wis., took place Jan. 30 at Brooklyn Park Lutheran Church.

Spilde died unexpectedly Jan. 25.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Pat) Spilde, Dianne (Curtis) Ray, Michael Spilde, Michele (Dean) Diers; grandchildren, Aimee (Ben) Nash, Stefanie Spilde, Ingrid (Curtis) Loney, Patrick (Deanna) Weddig, Amanda Diers, Casey Diers, Benjamin Diers; great-grandchildren, Madeline, Makenna and Isaac; fiance, Jim Olson; sisters, Doris Bargmann and Catherine Nelson; brother, Lester Johnson; and nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.



Robert Stransky

Memorial service for Robert “Bob” Stransky, 58, took place Jan. 28 at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.

Stransky died Jan. 22 after suffering from brain cancer and a brain injury for many years. He was a land surveyor.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila; son, Ryan; stepdaughter, Ellie North; mother, Theresa; brothers, Gary, John and Gordy; sisters, Janet and Carol; and brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.



John Weinmann

Funeral service for John L. “Jack” Weinmann, 72, Coon Rapids, took place Feb. 1 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids.

Weinmann died Jan. 28. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, retired employed of NSP Minneapolis and a woodworker at Epiphany Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joetta “Jet;” daughter, Jackie Kratz; son, Jay (Diana); six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eileen Weinmann; and sister, Susan Weber.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel.
