The growing awareness of the “global” market has increased interest in
foreign stock investments. There are many foreign companies that people
can invest in that are traded on the domestic exchanges. However,
instead of the actual stock trading on the U.S. domestic exchanges, an
American Depository Receipt (ADR) is often traded. ADRs help to reduce
administration and duty costs that would otherwise be levied on each
transaction. They were first introduced by JP Morgan & Company in
