A pharmacist at a Coon Rapids Walgreens store was robbed at gunpoint the night of Dec. 23.
The robbery was reported five minutes after midnight Dec. 24 at the Walgreens at 10686 University Ave. N.W.
According to the Coon Rapids Police report, a man wearing a ski mask approached the pharmacist and at gunpoint, ordered the pharmacist to hand over all the Oxycontin, a prescription painkiller, in the pharmacy.
The robber supplied the pharmacist with a white shopping bag in which to put the Oxycontin and left with 20 pill bottles, a total of 1,500 tablets, the police report states.
The pharmacist, who was ordered to lie on the floor, described the robber as a white male, between 45 and 60 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches tall, skinny build, with blue eyes and scruffy facial hair.
He was wearing a black ski mask, black baseball cap and a black sweatshirt or jacket.
Video surveillance showed the suspect walk into the store at 11:46 p.m. Dec. 23 and leave westbound on the sidewalk outside the store.
