Temperatures in the 90s and high dew points greeted fairgoers on the opening day of the Anoka County Fair.
Tuesday’s activities included 4-H judging, motocross racing, the start of the guitar star contest, magician Matt Dunn, the talent contest and a concert by Free Fallin’, a Tribute to Tom Petty.

On tap for Friday is the NTPA tractor pull at 6 p.m. in the grandstand, a concert by Good For Gary from 7 to 11 p.m. in the bandshell and The Law Band performing from 7 to 11 p.m. in the beer garden. The pre-teen and teen divisions of the talent contest will also be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the bandshell.
Activities presented by Anoka County 4-H include a dog agility show, dairy show, goat show, fun works and arts-in performance.
Saturday features USLMRA lawn mower races in the grandstand at 1 and 5 p.m., Boogie Wonderland in the bandshell from 7 to 11 p.m. and AWF Professional Wrestling in the beer garden at 7 p.m. Magician Matt Dunn also performs in the bandshell at 8 p.m.
There’s a Big Wheel contest for ages three to five at 11 a.m. and the diaper derby at 1 p.m. in the bandshell.
Anoka County 4-H activities include a fashion show on the outdoor stage at 11:30 a.m. and arts-in performances at 5 and 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, the final day of the Anoka County Fair, features the demolition derby in the grandstand at 2 p.m., Sherwin Linton in the bandshell from 4 to 7 p.m. and Scott the DJ in the beer garden from 4 to 8 p.m.

There’s a llama show at 9 a.m., kiss a pig contest at 1:30 p.m. and arts-in performances at 2:30 and 4 p.m.
The midway opens Friday at 1 p.m. and at noon on Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is $9. Children ages seven to 12 are admitted for $4 and children six and under get in free.
