by Peter Bodley Managing editor Delinquency petitions listing three felony charges have been filed in Anoka County Juvenile Court against two male juveniles in the wake of a home invasion at a Coon Rapids residence early May 10. David Allen Keyzers, 17, 11859 Alder St. N.W., and Brett Douglas Lahr, 17, 10906 Johnson St. N.E., Blaine, have both been charged with first-degree aggravated robbery, second-degree assault and first-degree burglary, according to Michael Chmiel, Anoka County Attorney’s Office juvenile division. Petitions have been filed with the juvenile court to have both Keyzers and Lahr tried as adults, Chmiel said. The adult certification hearings for both suspects will take place June 12. The juvenile court May 12 also ordered psychological evaluation/treatment for both Keyzers and Lahr and set May 27 as their next hearing dates. According to the Coon Rapids Police report on the incident, a 39-year-old Coon Rapids man was awakened shortly after 4 a.m. May 10 to find two white males in his house on the 12000 block of Alder Street N.W. When he tried to detain them, one of them assaulted him with a wine bottle. He suffered cuts to the head and his left eye was swollen. The suspects fled the house with property as the victim’s wife called 911. Coon Rapids Police set up a perimeter and a canine unit from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department was brought in. The dog’s tracking took the officers to a shed in the backyard of a house on the 11800 block of Alder Street N.W., where stolen property was found and a suspect, Keyzers, was arrested at the residence. Lahr was apprehended a short time later. The victim was taken to Mercy Hospital where he had staples put in his head wounds and he was treated for a fractured cheekbone.
