Ground-mode Park gets shutout win |

Spring Lake Park looked more like a Spring Lake Park team last Friday in rushing the ball 64 times for 310 yards on the ground. The result was a season’s first win, a 23-0 victory over previously undefeated Fridley.
For Park, the renaissance of its ground game, meant more consistency and more predictability. Though rushing the football was effective with quarterback Shaun Jensen and running back Tommy Brooks each carrying the ball 24 times for 120 and 126 yards, Park still was a little short in the touchdown category and had to rely on three Tim Weigelt field goals of 22, 23 and 36 yards for nine of its points. Brooks and Jensen, meantime, scored the touchdowns in the second and fourth quarters...
