Applications must be in by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25 if you are an East Bethel resident interested in filling a vacant seat on the East Bethel City Council in 2010.

The seat became vacant because Councilmember Anne Klein and her family are moving out of East Bethel. She had one year remaining on her first four-year term.

Klein broke the news of her pending resignation at the Oct. 21 council meeting and the city soon after that opened up the application process.

East Bethel residents interested in serving out the remaining year of Klein’s term must first contact East Bethel City Hall at 763-367-7840 to request information on the application process.

The council is scheduled to appoint a replacement council member at its Dec. 16 meeting. Depending on whether or not there are applicants, the council is set to interview candidates at a 5:30 p.m. Dec. 9 special council meeting.
