Early Thursday afternoon (Jan. 3), 7,800 Xcel Energy customers lost power in parts of Anoka, Coon Rapids and Champlin.
Xcel Energy was able to restore power to the last affected property by 7:21 p.m., according to Mary Sandok, media relations with Xcel Energy.
According to Sandok, a failure of electrical equipment at one of the area’s sub-stations caused the outage.
The exact location was not revealed.
