Blaine High School and its speech and debate program have received a national honor. The school was ranked No. 85 on the National Forensic League’s list of Top 100 schools in the nation for the 2012-13 school year.
Good ice came earlier this season than it has in recent memory and was welcome news for those chomping at the bit to get it all started. In the northern part of the state, anglers were even out before Thanksgiving on the shallower lakes and some of the walleye action has been red hot.
A public hearing and open house has been scheduled by the Anoka County Highway Department at the Coon Rapids City Center Wednesday, Dec. 11, 4:30-6:30 p.m., on the planned upgrade of University Avenue in Blaine and Coon Rapids.
