Anita Swanson grew up on a farm. She guided her children through 4-H programs and activities. She’s tirelessly worked to get a new livestock barn built on the fairgrounds. She spends countless hours selling dairy treats during the Anoka County Fair.
The century-old red wood barn stood bent with age, its rotted walls crumbling and its fractured roof ready to collapse.
As 4-H members presented an array of animals, games, activities and performances at the Anoka County Fair this year, there was a new addition: a solar electric vehicle (SEV).
With monster sports and motocross, bull riding, mutton bustin’ and tractor pull – not to mention demolition derby collisions – last week’s Anoka County Fair grandstand events thrilled crowds every night of the week.
