With well-deserved pomp and cheering circumstance, hundreds of students and staff honored local veterans and expressed authentic gratitude for their service during the fourth annual Veterans Day assembly in the Anoka High School fieldhouse.

After taking home all the best at a field show competition hosted by Marshall High School Sept. 21 (best drums, best percussion, best color guard, best visual performance, best brass, best woodwinds, best drum major, best music and best general effects), the Anoka High School Marching Tornadoes hosted Music in Motion at Goodrich Field Oct. 5.
Wednesday afternoon, new Anoka High School Activities Director Gwen Poore tries to locate soccer officials for a game at Goodrich Field that was supposed to start at 4 p.m. instead of the typical 5 p.m. kick off.
For the next 10 months, Anoka High School 2006 graduate Katie Hiatt will be conducting research on the religious life of prisoners in forced labor camps in Ukraine during Joseph Stalin’s rule of the Soviet Union.
