For the 53rd consecutive year, Anoka Alumni Letterman’s Club hosted its banquet and scholarship ceremony May 28 at Green Haven Golf Course in Anoka. More than 175 A-club members (Anoka graduates dating back to classes of the 1940s) gathered for a golf event, silent auction, dinner, presentation of the 2013 Everette Vevea and Jack Blesi memorial scholarships and a keynote address by University of Minnesota Athletic Director Norwood Teague.
Anoka-Hennepin’s Pathways food shelf, which distributes food and other essentials to the district’s high schools, Jackson Middle School, Coon Rapids Middle School and Compass, is seeking donations and community partnerships.
An Anoka High School graduate March 15 helped ring the New York Stock Exchange bell after he was recognized as one of the top four employees in 2012 for an international company that employs about 7,000 people.
