Anoka is hoping its neighbors along the Mississippi River follow suit and agree to impose a no wake zone during times of high water.

More than two dozen alumni of the Anoka Post 102 Legion baseball team converged on Castle Field for a friendly game ahead of Fourth of July fireworks July 3.
Tickets are on sale for the July 13 Anoka Heritage Home and Garden Tour. An annual summer tradition, the home and garden tour features historic homes and beautiful gardens in and around Anoka’s Swede Town neighborhood. The tour runs from 1-5 p.m. and tickets to the event cost $12 in advance, or $15 on the day of the tour. Ticket holders will go on open house tours that will show off 11 different 19th and 20th century homes, gardens and commercial businesses. Four of the sites are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
