The proposed five-city fire district in northern Anoka County is getting some help.
Plans to replace the voting equipment used in Anoka County for future elections have taken a major step forward.
Six of the seven Anoka County Board seats will be on the general election ballot Tuesday, Nov. 6. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The city of St. Francis is joining the cities of Ramsey, Oak Grove, Nowthen and Bethel in applying for a grant through the State Fire Marshal’s office that could help the communities get closer to establishing some form of shared fire services.
The Anoka County household hazardous waste facility will be closed Wednesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. The facility is located at 3230 101st Ave. N.E. in Blaine, off Radisson Road. Oak Grove will continue participating in the study of shared fire service along with Bethel, Nowthen, Ramsey and St. Francis.
