Anoka County’s two compost sites, located in Bunker Hills and Rice Creek Chain of Lakes regional parks, closed for the season Nov. 30.
However, the Bunker Hills compost site, located one mile north of Main Street on Hanson Boulevard in Coon Rapids, will reopen for two weekends in January to receive Christmas trees and evergreen garland (not heavily bound with wire), as well as other types of yard and tree waste.
Championship qualifying is under way for Minnesota Golf Association events as The Refuge Golf Club in Oak Grove and Valleywood Golf Course in Apple Valley hosted qualifying events May 20 for the 35th MGA Players Championship (June 24-26 at Interlachen Country Club, Edina), 14th MGA Senior Players and seventh MGA Mid-Players Championship (June 18-20 at Island View Golf Club, Waconia).
