It’s the mid ‘50s and there’s no dancing, no loud music and no interracial dating allowed in a small midwestern town. But when a young, motorcycle riding roustabout arrives and shakes things up, lives in that small town take a dramatic turn.
Eager to bring joy to children lying in hospital beds or enduring medical treatments, members of Coon Rapids High School’s career and leadership exploration programs created more than three dozen teddy bears. The students let their imaginations run wild, building Barbie bears, Twins baseball bears, hockey player bears, princess bears, bunny bears and more.
Tami Revering, a Coon Rapids mother of three, will never forget Nov. 10, 2010, she told students in the Coon Rapids High School child development and parenting class last week.
The Coon Rapids High School Winterguard will host its annual Cardinal Classic home show on Saturday, March 8, 1 p.m. in the Coon Rapids High School fieldhouse. The show will feature units from across Minnesota, as well as a performance by the Coon Rapids Winter Drumline.
Students from Coon Rapids High School and from Legacy Christian Academy competed Feb. 8 in region finals one-act play competition and finished in second and third place, respectively.
Anoka-Hennepin District 11 hosted a special Young Scientist Roundtable event Jan. 30 at Coon Rapids High School.
