Sen. John Hoffman (DFL-Champlin/Coon Rapids/Brooklyn Park) recently met with Coon Rapids Middle School students at the State Capitol to answer their questions and share his experiences as a freshman lawmaker.
It was standing room only at Coon Rapids Middle School (CRMS) the evening of Feb. 21 when hundreds of families stopped by to marvel at students’ projects and performances during the school’s third annual Showcase Night.
In recognition of Black History Month, students from the Multicultural Group at Coon Rapids Middle School (CRMS) gave classmates and staff members the opportunity to sign the “Birmingham Pledge,” promising to respect others and discourage prejudice.
With the support of a grant from Fuel Up to Play 60 this spring, Coon Rapids Middle School (CRMS) was able to provide students a Breakfast to Go (B2G) option and the number of students eating breakfast at the school has increased from 7 to 20 percent.
More than 150 Fuel Up to Play 60 student leaders and their advisers from 27 Minnesota schools, including Coon Rapids and Northdale middle schools, celebrated their year’s worth of accomplishments at Mall of America Field.
