When St. Olaf Cross Country coach Chris Daymont asked Jorden Johnson about joining the team last January, neither coach nor runner dreamed about the way the 2012 season turned out for the Oles sophomore.
Participation in varsity-level activities once again came to light during Monday’s Anoka-Hennepin School Board meeting as members of the Coon Rapids girls’ cross country team showed up in support of eighth-grader Bryna DelCasatillo being allowed to run varsity-level races, among others in the district.
When Blaine High School (BHS) cross country coach Rachel Karel introduced Tom Anderson, a member of her team, and Ally Anderson, a student in her Spanish class and yearbook photo editor, she said, “Ally, Tom. Tom, Ally. You made each other famous.”
