St. Francis High School’s doors were closed for most students and staff in 2013 when regular classes ended Dec. 20, but a few select youth who study domestic and global affairs for the school debate team were back in the halls and rooms that Saturday for more discussion.
Blaine High School and its speech and debate program have received a national honor. The school was ranked No. 85 on the National Forensic League’s list of Top 100 schools in the nation for the 2012-13 school year.
Outfitted in conservative black suits and armed with heaps of photocopied documents, dozens of scholarly articles and reams of printed research, Blaine High School students Courtney Bye and Shilvi Joshi arrived for the 2012 Minnesota State Debate Tournament.
