Just eight days after residents packed into the Ham Lake City Council chambers to voice their concerns and desire for more information regarding a potential move by the city to start its own police department, a follow-up meeting at the Ham Lake Senior Center was short and subdued.

The Ham Lake City Council Monday night unanimously approved an ordinance revision that will give residents in R-1 residential zoning districts a chance to have homing pigeons on their property as long as they receive temporary conditional use permit (CUP) approval from the council.
