Legacy Christian Academy sent 25 graduates into the world after its June 6 commencement ceremony for its 12th grade class.

UW-Stevens Point senior pitcher Travis Elwood (Anoka) was named WIAC Athlete of the Week for pitchers after a pair of appearances to help the Yellowjackets go 3-1 and 12-7 overall this spring. He pitched one inning, giving up one run on one hit in an 8-6 loss to UW-Stout April 23. He followed that with an eight-inning performance Sunday in an 8-3 win over the Pointers. He gave up three runs on six hits. For the season he is 3-1 with a 2.32 earned run average with 33 strikeouts and eight walks in 31 innings of work
Those committed to protect and serve took their oaths to the ice when the Coon Rapids Police and Fire Guns & Hoses hockey team faced off against the Legacy Christian Academy Lions at Coon Rapids Ice Center April 19.
Students from Coon Rapids High School and from Legacy Christian Academy competed Feb. 8 in region finals one-act play competition and finished in second and third place, respectively.
