Even though I am no longer a student at Anoka High School, this issue still concerns me. Everyday after school last year it would take me forever to get home when I lived five minutes away from school. The traffic was always horrible, and I put blame to the illegal turn on Bunker that is right outside the school.
I have read various letters and statements by some expressing dismay at the parents who objected to their 15-year-old daughter being presented with the book “Eleanor and Park” to read as part of the Anoka-Hennepin School District summer reading program. This program targets children ages 14-17.
I am writing in response to Barb Anderson’s letters of Aug 9 and Oct. 4. To adequately cover important issues requires more than a sound bite. I apologize ahead of time for the length of this letter. But I ask that you read the entire letter. Otherwise it is best to not read it at all.
