Minnesota United FC announced plans to continue to play home games at the National Sports Center in Blaine through the 2016 season during a post-season press conference at Brit’s Pub in Minneapolis Tuesday.
Coming off a near month-long NASL break, Minnesota United looks to get back on the winning track and regain their NASL form against the Spring Season Champion, Atlanta Silverbacks – the team that clinched the Spring Season crown on United’s home field back in the Spring Season finale on July 4th.
Minnesota United FC ended the spring season with a less than sparkling 3-0 loss to Atlanta in its return to the National Sports Center Stadium on the Fourth of July in front of an announced crowd of 6,507.
Minnesota United FC’s Dark Clouds supporters section summed up the collective feelings inside the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome with its song “All we are saying is score us a goal” in the 53rd minute to the tune of John Lennon’s anti-war protest song, “Give Peace A Chance.”
Minnesota United FC has been in a furious rush to get everything organized for another season, which begins April 6 with the Dome Opener against none other than the reigning NASL Soccer Bowl champion San Antonio Scorpions at the Metrodome.
