To a soccer lover like me, there’s nothing quite like the Football Association Challenge Cup, commonly known as the FA Cup in England. Not only is it the oldest knock-out or single elimination soccer competition in the world, founded in 1871, it’s also likely the largest.
Minnesotans tend to be passionate about the sports teams they support through thick and thin; this past weekend Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins (for the past three seasons in the Twins’ case) was a disappointment for their fans.
My taste in music has evolved over the years. As a teen growing up in London, England, in the late 1950s and early 1960s, I gravitated toward rock music when it first emerged on the music scene with Bill Haley and the Comets, then Elvis Presley all the way through The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who and other British musicians of that era, like Eric Clapton, many of whom are still going strong.
