The St. Francis Chamber of Commerce is considering taking charge of the city’s annual Pioneer Days celebration. But before it makes that commitment, it is asking the city of St. Francis to agree to help fund the event for a minimum of the next three years.
It wasn’t the best weather St. Francis’ annual Pioneer Days festival has ever seen, but the rain held off for Saturday’s grand parade and there were nothing but smiles on the faces of the children who turned out along Bridge Street to admire the stream of fire engines and floats.
The city of St. Francis’ future financial involvement in the Pioneer Days community celebration is up for debate.
