Once again top-seed Duluth East and No. 2 seed Blaine met to determine the Section 7AAAA champion and once again the Greyhounds emerged with a last-second win.
This time it came from a third-pointer with five seconds left as Duluth East won 64-62 and walked off the Elk River High School court with the section title trophy as a stunned Blaine squad looked on in amazement once again.
Blaine led by 15 points at the break and increased that to as many as 32 points in the second half of its Section 7AAAA opener against Cambridge-Isanti 73-44 March 9. Blaine senior Stephon Egbujor scored 16 coming off the bench to lead all scorers and senior Josh Limberg added 11 for Blaine. The No. 2 seeded Bengals host No. 3 Anoka March 13. Photos by Bill Jones
