St. Francis boys’ hockey had a chance to make some noise in the North Suburban Conference title race but fell flat of that mark in a 6-3 loss at leader and third-ranked (Class A) Totino-Grace Jan. 26.
Andover established itself at the top of the Northwest Suburban Conference standings following a 2-0 win at Maple Grove Jan. 8. Andover’s Krista Flanagan scored twice on the power play in the first period as the Huskies rode the lead to its 12th win of the season.
St. Francis trailed Spring Lake Park three times but came through with a 5-3 win as both teams resumed the North Suburban Conference schedule at Fogerty Arena Thursday night.
Coon Rapids grabbed its first win of the season in Roseau while St. Francis and Legacy Christian earned valuable wins on the Iron Range and North Shore.
