St. Francis schools and businesses were placed on a brief lockdown early Monday afternoon following an armed robbery at a St. Francis business. Nobody was injured in the hold-up, and the lockdowns were cleared once police felt confident that the suspect was no longer in the area.

Anoka girls and Andover boys won their respective team titles and will represent the section the Class AAA state true team meet at Stillwater High School May 17. Field events start at 4 p.m. with running events to follow at 5 p.m.

UW-Stevens Point senior pitcher Travis Elwood (Anoka) was named WIAC Athlete of the Week for pitchers after a pair of appearances to help the Yellowjackets go 3-1 and 12-7 overall this spring. He pitched one inning, giving up one run on one hit in an 8-6 loss to UW-Stout April 23. He followed that with an eight-inning performance Sunday in an 8-3 win over the Pointers. He gave up three runs on six hits. For the season he is 3-1 with a 2.32 earned run average with 33 strikeouts and eight walks in 31 innings of work
