It was fitting that Anoka senior Megan Lindenfelser was so involved in Anoka’s bid for its first state softball tournament trophy.
Lindenfelser struck out 10 in nine innings as the winning pitcher and drove in the decisive run in Anoka’s 3-2 win against North St. Paul in the Class AAA third place game at Caswell Park in Mankato Friday afternoon.

Coming off a 62-50 win over Duluth East in the home opener five days earlier, a revamped Blaine (1-1) looked for its second win of the season against Coon Rapids Dec. 5. The Cardinals (2-0) had other ideas, leading from nearly start to finish for the 53-48 win that saw 65 fouls called between the two sides and a combined 88 free throw attempts.
