Anoka came away with a 10th-place finish in the team standings highlighted by four place winners at the Minnesota Christmas Tournament in Rochester Dec. 20-21.
Before hosting the Hyland-Board duals two days later, Coon Rapids traveled to Robbinsdale Armstrong for a pair of Northwest Suburban Conference duals. The Cardinals recorded a 51-12 win against the Falcons and a 43-20 win over Osseo Dec. 5.
Wrestling teams took to the mats at three different tournaments to open the 2013-14 season. Anoka won at Mound, Coon Rapids went 2-1 at Hastings and Andover placed fourth in Osseo.
The St. Cloud State University wrestling program will offer a youth wrestling clinic from 8 a.m. until 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 in the Halenbeck Hall Fieldhouse. The SCSU wrestling clinic will feature guest clinician Shamus O’Grady, a four-time All-American and the 2013 NCAA Division II champion at 184-pounds. O’Grady is a graduate of Coon Rapids High School and is currently serving as a student coach at SCSU in 2013-14.
